4K TV for 25 million Won limited to 84 preorders
LG is putting its 84-inch ultra-definition TV on sale to a limited number of customers in Korea. The 4K television, shown off at CES earlier this year, can display video at a resolution of 3840x2160, as well as a full 1080p and 3D using passive Film Pattern Retarder (FPR) glasses. Audio is provided by a two stereo speakers and two woofers for 2.2-channel "3D surround sound".
Only 84 units of the 84-inch television will go on sale in Korea, with a steep price of 25 million Won ($22,000). Customers pre-ordering it will have various perks, including a 300,000 Won ($260) 3D camcorder, Alain Mikli 3D glasses, and free installation. Other freebies, such as espresso machines, home theater systems, PCs, and hotel vouchers are also available for selection.
Earlier this month, Samsung put its 75-inch LCD TV on sale in Korea. The full HD Smart TV does not have the 4K capability of the LG release, but it does include a pop-up webcam, gesture recognition and a cheaper 19.8 million Won ($17,300) pricetag. [via Engadget]
