Image confirms mid-range LTE device for Verizon
Another image of the Samsung smartphone codenamed '"Jasper" (SCH-i200) has leaked online. The photo of the Verizon handset appears on the evleaks Twitter feed, with claims of a dual-core Snapdragon MSM8960 processor running at 1.5GHz, a resolution of 800x480, LTE data, and running on Ice Cream Sandwich Android.
The previous leak of the handset back in April took place during Bluetooth certification, where a similar image was revealed along with fairly similar specifications. The fact that Verizon's 4G LTE logo is on the back appears to confirm that it may become one of the carrier's midrange LTE offerings for those not wanting the Samsung Galaxy S III. The buttons along the bottom do appear to be different from normal Samsung fare, sporting a redesigned ICS-style menu key, and a dedicated multitasking key.
There is still no mention of a release date for the handset; neither Verizon nor Samsung are willing to provide further details as of yet. Considering the carrier logo and apparent late-stage development, it's likely to be announced soon. [via The Verge]
