Bluetooth-enabled, with optical output

Edifier today announced the availability of its new E30 Spinnaker Bluetooth stereo system. The novel design of the system is engineered to increase sound quality, and it packs inside a number of technologies to amplify its output. The sail-shaped speakers won the CES Innovations Award this year.

At 16.5-inches tall, the Spinnaker's design is inspired by a ship's sail. The tapered cylindrical shape is said to cancel unwanted sounds and push accurate sound toward the listener. The speakers implement three audio amplifiers within a loudspeaker: one for the bass, one for the mid-range, and one for the treble.

The Spinnaker has Bluetooth pairing capability with up to a 30-foot radius. It also includes an optical input for connecting to multimedia systems and game consoles, as well as an auxiliary input for other external devices. The Spinnaker is available in black and burgundy starting at $350 at Edifier's online store.

This is what wins designs awards these days? Those who sponsor the awards must be designers themselves; regular people see them for what they are - CRAP.
