Some newer Up-to-Date codes for Mountain Lion still failing

updated 04:36 pm EDT, Wed July 25, 2012

Issue reaches beyond premature codes

People are continuing to experience problems trying to redeem Mountain Lion upgrade codes, according tothreads on Apple's support forums. The company today had to reissue codes to people who applied for the Up-to-Date program on Monday, before the program was meant to be launched. Even some new registrants are having problems however, receiving Mac App Store messages telling them that their codes have already been used.

Apple representatives contacted by some of the affected people are reportedly saying that the issue should be solved within 24 to 72 hours. Still other customers are being told that they'll be getting new codes as well.

Mountain Lion has had a rocky launch. On top of the code redemption problems, some people have had trouble downloading the upgrade even with a working code. That though may be attributable more to server load, since people are rushing to download software measuring 4.05GB.

I'd be happy just to get a code. I've got seven iMacs and four MBPs that are eligible. Submitted the information this morning and still haven't gotten a code.

But looking at Mountain Lion on my work iMac (upgraded via the App Store for $20), Ubuntu is looking better every day.

Apple is getting $hittier and $hittier... snow leopard was and still is the best OS Apple will ever make. No extra BS stuff... seriously, Face $hit Book integration?,.... helllll no

AND Samsung will come out on top in the end. They make phablets.... that is what people want.... Apple will have to copy them... Remember steve crap jobs, he said, good artists borrow, but great artists STEAL others work. Quote me on that, Fokkkers lets see who bites who in the end...

I'll go along with you on Snow Leopard. It was snappy without including a bunch of useless, stupid stuff.

No, Steve Jobs was merely quoting Picasso when he said that. And it doesn't mean what you think it means.
