Apple reissues Mountain Lion codes for Up-to-Date program

updated 01:02 pm EDT, Wed July 25, 2012

New codes given out for premature registrations

Apple is issuing new Mac App Store codes to people who registered too early for the Mountain Lion Up-to-Date Program, reports say. On Monday the company accidentally made a submission form live, and for a brief time qualifying people received download codes via email. Those codes aren't working as of today's official Mountain Lion launch, requiring the replacements.

The Up-to-Date Program ensures that people who recently bought a Mac without Mountain Lion can get the OS upgrade for free. Only a short window exists; Macs must have been picked up since June 11th, and as of July 26th the offer expires 30 days after a computer's purchase. For people who got a Mac before the 26th, an August 24th application deadline exists.

I have seven iMacs and four MBPs to deploy...all eligible. I submitted the first one and have waited several hours now.

C'mon guys...people have work to get done.

    Apple doesn't monitor MacNN.

Also, it took 2 days for me to get my code; several hours is nothing.
