Update also brings Optimus 3.0 UI

AT&T customers that own the LG Nitro HD will soon be able to update their phones to Android 4.0. The update was announced today in a blog post on AT&T's site. The software upgrade will also bring a new version of LG's Optimus UI, bringing it to version 3.0. The update goes live on July 31 and is accessible through LG's site.

Android 4.0 brings UI changes meant to simplify common actions and improvements to overall readability on devices. The update also includes redesigns for the Gallery App and Photo Editor, as well as improved multitasking capabilities. Users will also be able to set their phones to unlock based on facial recognition.

AT&T's announcement also carried word that updates would be coming in the next few weeks for the HTC One X and HTC Inspire. These updates will improve performance for both models and, in the case of the Inspire, add AT&T Address Book, HTC Sense 3.0, and Task Manager.
