Facebook freshens up the look of photo albums, brings simple editing interface
Facebook is enhancing the way users view, share, and organize their photos on the social network. On Monday, it detailed the differences, which include the ability to star photos to make them more prominent to friends. The photos are also larger and get better organized thanks to a mosaic view.
Users need to have the new Timeline interface to enjoy the new photos interface and features, however. A new menu will let users quickly find images they've been tagged in, ones they've shared and albums they've created. The look replaces the boring and dated grid look that's been used to date on the social network.
Rolling over each photo also allows users to edit, Like, or comment on it. The new interface will be rolled out to users over the next few weeks. There is no indication if it will eventually be ported over to the mobile apps of the social network as well, however.
