Two new Sony NEX cameras leaked ahead of unveiling
Sony has two new NEX compact body, mirrorless cameras in the works after the models turned up in the product inventory of a Sony Indonesian agency. The NEX-5R looks to be a revamped version of the popular NEX-5 series of cameras, but upgraded with at least the addition of Wi-Fi capability. Also apparent in the leak is an all-new model, the NEX-6, which looks destined to fill the large price void between the NEX-5 and the NEX-7 in Sony's lineup.
Other details to emerge about that cameras suggest that the NEX-5R will also receive the handy 180 degree flip screen as seen on the NEX-F3, along with a 16-megapixel APS-C sensor. The NEX-6 is expected to sport similar features to the NEX-7, but at a more affordable price point. This includes a built-in electronic viewfinder, albeit at a lower resolution than found in the NEX-7. Also in the pipeline are said to be new E-Mount lenses including a 16-50mm pancake lens, an 11-18mm pancake lens and a fast prime lens.
The forthcoming Sony NEX-5R and the NEX-6 are expected to debut at the Photokina camera show coming up next month. [via Sony Alpha Rumors]
