Photon Q 4G LTE goes up for preorder, will ship beginning on August 19
The Motorola Photon Q 4G LTE has now gone up for pre-order up on Sprint's website. The horizontal slider has a hardware QWERTY keyboard and will ship on August 19, priced at $200. It's the first such device to offer international roaming capabilities and 4G LTE network support.
The major technical specs include a 1.5GHz dual-core processor, an eight-megapixel rear camera, a 1.3-megapixel front camera, and a 4.3-inch ColorBoost Display with a scratch-resistant glass and 1280x720 resolution. There is 1GB of RAM onboard and 8GB of internal storage space. Each hardware keyboard key gets a dedicated LED light. An NFC radio allows for sharing files using Android Beam and works with mobile payment apps.
A Mirror mode lets users view their images, files, and multimedia content on an HDTV thanks to a separately purchased HDMI cable. Android 4.0 will be preloaded.
Those who pre-order will get their phones up to two days sooner than the August 19 release date, if supplies last. A two-year contract is required in order to purchase the phone for $200.
