Archos Family Pad undergoes testing at the FCC

Archos Family Pad Android tablet will have 13.3-inch touchscreen

Archos is apparently expanding its tablet lineup with a device called the Family Pad, which has just been spotted undergoing testing at the FCC. It follows up on the theme of the earlier Child Pad and the rumored Child Pad 2. Unlike those 7-inch tablets, however, this one aims to be much larger, perhaps to cater to family viewing and gaming.

The manual that accompanies the image and test report on the FCC site reveals this device will have a 13.3-inch screen size, though it's believed other sizes will be available as well. It should also have 8GB and 16GB capacities as well as a memory card slot. Otherwise, an Allwinner A10 processor with an unspecified clock speed is onboard -- it is rated at between 1 and 1.5GHz in other applications -- and Android will be preloaded, more than likely 4.0. Wi-Fi, two USB ports, an HDMI output, and a front and rear camera will also be onboard.

Pricing isn't known, but the device is likely to arrive in US stores fairly soon. [via Engadget]
