Wired, wireless version ship at end of September

At the German GamesCom expo today, Creative Technology announced both a wireless and wired version of the Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage gaming headset for PC and Mac. The headsets feature 50mm full-spectrum drivers, with a frequency response of 20Hz through 20KHz.

A LED illumination system on the ear cups allows users to light up each side of the headset for customization purposes. Adjustable pulsation and intensity control allows the headset to dynamically pulse with the audio stream in real time, if desired.

A specialized software control panel for both PC and Mac gives the headsets SBX Pro Studio and the LED SB Prism illumination controls. SBX Surround gives the headset virtual 7.1-channel surround sound, while the SBX Crystalizer restores highs and lows affected adversely by audio compression. SBX Bass expands the low-frequency tones. SBX Dialog Plus enhances voices in games or movies, and SBX Smart Volume applies gain and attenuation on the fly to delivery consistent volume levels.

The Sound Blaster Tactic3D Rage gaming headset line will be available at the end of September. The wireless version is priced at $130, and the wireless headset retails for $80.
