Galaxy Tab with keyboard for $250
The previously leaked back-to-school offer for Samsung's Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 has been officially announced. Samsung confirmed today that it will be offering its 7-inch tablet in a special Student Edition -- a white variant of the tablet with a keyboard dock and USB adapter in box -- for $250. Beginning August 19, consumers will be able to take advantage of the new offer, but it only runs until September 1.
The Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 has a dual-core 1GHz processor and 1GB RAM. It also packs 8GB of internal memory, though that can be expanded with a microSD card. The tablet's 7-inch PLS LCD display outputs at 1024x600 and it has a VGA front-facing camera as well as a 3MP rear-facing camera. The device ships with Android 4.0, but an update to Android 4.1 is expected in the near future.
Potential buyers can pick up the Student Edition for $250 at Best Buy, Amazon, Tiger Direct, Costco, and Fry's when the sale begins on Sunday.
