Shows larger screen, relocated FaceTime camera
A repair site, UBreakiFix, says it has obtained photos of an alleged full front panel assembly for the next-generation iPhone. While front panels have been seen before, the leak represents the first time a complete assembly has been seen, including an LCD. The images also show a relocated FaceTime camera -- now above the earpiece -- as well as serial numbers and an LCD connector.
The assembly may back reports that Apple is into full-scale production of a new iPhone. An announcement is widely expected on September 12th, with a launch possibly taking place on the 21st. While the iPhone 4S shipped in October last year, Apple could be hoping to return to its usual fall schedule, in which a major press event takes place in early September.
