Discover partnership with PayPal will allow payments in over 7 million US retailers
PayPal, traditionally used for online payments, is further trying to break into the offline world by teaming up with Discover. While the partnership won't go into effect until 2013, it will allow PayPal users to use their accounts for payments in over seven million merchants that accept the Discover card in the US.
While the specifics aren't yet being shared, the PayPal account will need to be linked to a customer's Discover card. Merchants won't need to install any new hardware or software to allow the PayPal payments, however. Signs will identify the participating stores.
PayPal currently has deals in place with 16 national retailers, including The Home Depot, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Jos. A. Banks. [via SlashGear]
