26-inch Ice Screen runs on Android 4.0 and has access to online QQ Services

Tencent, China's largest Internet service portal, has teamed up with hardware maker TCL Multimedia to produce this 26-inch TV that has many tablet-like functions. Dubbed Ice Screen, it is powered by Android 4.0 and sports 1,366x768 resolution. The screen connects to Tencent's QQ Services and has its own power source for portable operation as well.

Processing power comes from a dual-core Cortex A9 processor with a 1GHz clock speed. There is also a Mali 400 GPU and 4GB of RAM onboard. Storage is via a memory card, with capacities of up to 32GB supported.

There is no touchscreen functionality, with users instead interfacing using a traditional IR remote, though mobile devices running Android 2.2 or later can also download a free app to control it.

Users will have the ability to watch high-definition videos, play music and view photos, and hold video chats with other users, as well as game online.

The TV has two USB ports, a Wi-Fi radio, HDMI port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Pre-orders require a deposit of ¥1,999 (about $315) online, with a launch due on September 3. It will be available in blue, pink, gold, and green.
