High-fidelity speakers a third the normal size
Mackie announced today the launch of a new line of powered loudspeakers, its new DLM series. The audio equipment manufacturer says its new DLM series produces premium-level sound at a third the size of typical loudspeakers. The line includes three models: the DLM8, DLM12, and the DLM12S.
The DLM8 is an 8-inch powered loudspeaker incorporating the Mackie DL2 integrated digital mixer, which the DLM12 also features in its 12-inch frame. Both models feature an ultra-compact form factor with a PC-ABS cabinet, powder-coated grille, and integrated kickstand for personal monitor use. They are both capable of 3-band EQ and feature multi-band feedback destroyers, six speaker modes, and Smart Protect technology. The DLM8 weighs 21.4lb, and the DLM12 weighs in at 30lb.
The DLM12S is a powered subwoofer with an integrated DLP Digital Processor, providing a variable crossover. Its 15mm poplar cabinet has a powder-coated grille and integrated pole-cup for mounting a DLM full-range loudspeaker. The unit weighs 47lb.
Further information on all three devices is available on Mackie's site. The products are not available for purchase immediately, but Mackie is allowing potential customers to sign up for additional notifications on the products through the site.
