Full specs of Sony's mirrorless NEX-5R leaked ahead of debut

Sony's upcoming NEX-5R that will be officially revealed on August 29 in London has been spotted in an official photo and all of its specs revealed thanks to Sony Alpha Rumors. The camera, alongside the NEX-6, made the rounds at the FCC earlier in the month as well, though this photo is much more official. The NEX-6, alongside the A99 and VG900, are due to be revealed at a different event on September 12.

The mirrorless NEX-5R, however, will get a 16.1-megapixel APS-C CMOS Exmor sensor and a new Bionz imaging engine, according to the source. It will have a 25-point contrast autofocus and 99 phase-detection autofocus points. They will be continuous and tracking, while the manual focus will have an assist feature.

Out back, there will be a three-inch tilting touchscreen display that can be used to take a photo. The ISO will range from 100 and 25,600, while 1080p/60fps, AVCHD 2.0-format video will be supported. There are 15 photo effects built-in as well. A Wi-Fi radio is said to be integrated for downloading content wirelessly and remotely controlling it.

Pricing or shipping dates weren't revealed in the leak, however, though these key pieces of data are expected to be unveiled tomorrow.
