Solo 21 is revamped with new look and features, lower starting price

Maingear has now revealed a revamped version of its Solo 21 all-in-one PC introduced back in March. As before, it remains fully upgradeable, but there are new features and a refreshed design. In an unusual change, it also starts at less than before, with base pricing now $900 instead of the previous starting point of $1,000.

Owners have the option of upgrading the Intel Thin Mini-ITX motherboard, with the base system getting a 3.3GHz Ivy Bridge Intel Core i3 2125 processor. It also gets 4GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, a DVD burner, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and Windows 7 Home Premium. The DVD drive can be upgraded to a Blu-ray drive and the spinning disk drive can be swapped for an mSATA SSD up to 256GB in capacity, with Maingear offering gear from Crucial. A 1TB hard drive is also available. Up to 16GB of RAM can be specified and Intel's GHz 3.1GHz Core i7 3770S.

The optional Intel DQ77KB mainboard supports USB 3.0, SATA 6G, Intel SRT and vPro for more professional clients or businesses.

The PC can also be VESA mounted. It should be shipping anytime now.
