Nintendo will attempt to beat bubble gum record for Kirby's 20th birthday
One of the characters created for Nintendo's games is turning 20 this year, and to celebrate, the Japanese video game company is attempting to set a Guinness World Record. To do so, Nintendo plans to gather over 304 individuals at the Penny Arcade Expo tomorrow, Saturday, September 1 in Seattle. They will then blow chewing gum bubbles in pink.
Kirby appeared in nearly 20 game titles since his debut in 1992's Kirby's Dream Land. Otherwise, Nintendo marked the anniversary by releasing the Kirby's Dream Collection: Special Edition for the Wii that arrived in Japan on July 19 and bundles six legacy games Kirby appeared in. It also contains three episodes of the Kirby: Right Back At Ya! anime series in Japan.
The same bundle but likely without the anime episodes is due to arrive in North America on September 16.
