No-bezel smartphone to be revealed September 5
Motorola next week will be unveiling a new Android-powered smartphone that will feature an edge-to-edge screen on its front face. This according to sources familiar with Motorola's plans, who tell Bloomberg that the phone will be compatible with LTE networks as well. The new handset will mark the highest-profile reveal for Motorola Mobility since Google purchased the mobile device maker earlier this year.
Should reports on the screen bear out, the forthcoming Motorola handset would be one of the first full-screen phones to debut in the United States. The elimination of the bezel surrounding the screen would allow for a much larger display without a corresponding increase in the device's footprint.
Motorola will likely be launching the new handset later this year, though details on pricing and availability were unavailable. It is expected to launch on Verizon.
