Case to more than double existing battery capacity

Mophie is gearing up to release its first battery case for a non-iOS handset. The Juice Pack for Samsung Galaxy S III is claimed to add more than 100 percent to the existing battery life of the Android smartphone, according to Engadget. This could potentially see the handset run for over 21 hours, double that of the 10 hours 20 minutes when used for 3G calls during tests.

Like other iterations of the Juice Pack, photos show the handset being protected by the case, while also adding a fair amount of extra weight and size to the already oversized handset. Dimensions have not been released as of yet, but based on the photographs, expect it to add three quarters of an inch to the length.

Mophie hopes to get the Juice Pack out for the Galaxy S III by late October or early November. Although a price hasn't been quoted as of yet, expect it to be around the same cost as its existing iPhone lines, namely $80 to $100.
