Lumias to have branded charging station, Qi compatibility

Shortly after rumors emerged that Nokia's forthcoming Lumia devices would feature Qi wireless charging compatibility, new images have shown up online that appear to show off the power station for the new devices. The pictures were leaked in a tweet from @evleaks, and they appear to show the charging stations on which the new Lumias are meant to rest.

Both the Lumia 820 and the 920 are shown along with the wireless charging pad, likely meaning that both models will feature Qi compatibility. The pad itself looks just a bit shorter than either phone model, and it sports a single cord that may connect to a USB port or another power source. Both phone models are shown resting on the station in the same orientation, suggesting that a particular alignment will be necessary in order to enable wireless charging.

The images show off a Nokia-branded charging station but, since the new handsets are said to be Qi-compatible, it is likely that they will work with third-party charging platforms as well. A separate tweet from the same source shows off the 820 and 920 once more, but this time with unidentified accessories in the foreground. [via The Verge]
