Envy 23 and Envy 20 add multitouch

HP has announced four new consumer-level all-in-one PCs to supplement its Windows 8 lineup, with two of them including multitouch technology. The touchscreen models, the HP Envy 23 TouchSmart and Envy 20 TouchSmart, offer 10-point multitouch technology. For the budget-conscious, the HP Pavilion 20 brings many of the improvements of the Envy to the Pavilion lineup.

The HP Envy 23 and HP Envy 20 TouchSmart can sense all 10 fingers on the screen at once, and come equipped with Ivy Bridge Intel processors, SSDs, and up to 3TB of hard drive storage. The HP TrueVision HD web camera and Beats Audio highlight the audio and visual peripherals on the Envy models. Both sizes are available in October at a starting price of $799 for the HP Envy 20 TouchSmart and $999 for the HP Envy 23 TouchSmart.

The HP Pavilion 20 updates the budget line for Windows 8. An HD display and Intel "Sandy Bridge" or AMD processor options keep costs down while still allowing Windows 8 compatibility. A starting price of $449 is expected for the HP Pavilion 20, which will be available in October.
