YouTube video provides modder-friendly phone details
Xtreamer, maker of media streamers and home theater PCs, has teased its first phone with a YouTube video and a sign-up page. The Xtreamer AiKi is a five-inch Android handset which, according to the video, will have Ice Cream Sandwich installed with root access enabled, along with the claim that it will "reinvent smartphone pricing."
Although the video reveals the smartphone's use of Ice Cream Sandwich, a capacitive multitouch screen, ClockWorkMod-based updates, and a "powerful battery", specifics concerning the hardware are not revealed. A multilingual ROM and dual SIM usage are mentioned, suggesting it may be useful for travelers and potential users living on national borders, for example Europeans.
A price and release date has not been released as of yet, however a sign-up page offers to provide further information in the future. [via Engadget]
