Uses 4.3-inch display, 20 built-in games
The NeoGeo X handheld games console, by SNK Playmore of Japan, is to be made available as a standalone option from the Gold bundle. Set to launch at the same time as the bundle including the X Station main unit and joystick, the portable console still have a large number of preloaded games, expandable by an SD card slot.
The Linux-powered handheld has a 4.3-inch LCD display with a resolution of 480x272, stereo speakers, and built-in stereo speakers complimented by a headphone jack. Enough front facing and shoulder buttons are included to perform everything the joystick controller could do. The handheld can be plugged into a base station, allowing for local multiplayer with multiple controllers, and connects to a TV via HDMI. The battery will reportedly last six hours on one charge.
The bundle will cost $200 when it is released on December 6th, while the handheld on its own will cost $130. [via Wired]
