Revamped Amazon tablet optional for next day delivery
Amazon has begun shipping the 16GB model of the 7-inch version of its new Kindle Fire HD tablet. The e-retail giant's product page for the 7-inch tablet shows the 16GB model as in-stock and available for delivery as early as tomorrow. The 32GB model, according to the product page, will not be available until October 25.
The Kindle Fire HD packs a 1280x800 display with an advanced true-wide polarizing filter, allowing users to see the full spectrum of colors from all angles. Its laminated touch sensor reduces glare by 25 percent, and it has a Texas Instruments OMAP 4470 processor inside, which Amazon says outperforms the Tegra 3.
The 8.9-inch versions of the Kindle Fire HD are still unavailable, though both the Wi-Fi and 4G LTE 8.9-inch models are expected to ship on November 20. The 8GB Kindle Fire is listed as in-stock and available for order.
