Adobe: next Photoshop to drop Windows XP support

CS6 the last version to support Windows XP
The next major release of Adobe's Photoshop image editing software will drop support for Windows XP. This according to a post on the Photoshop.com Blog yesterday, one that cited the XP's limitations in light of computing advancements over the last eleven years since the operating system's release. Photoshop CS6 will be the last major Photoshop release to support XP.
Photoshop feature updates specifically for Creative Cloud members will no longer support Windows XP either. Adobe says that the advantages of more modern operating systems, graphics cards/GPUs, and graphics drivers make possible more improvements in 3D, Blur Gallery, and Lighting Effect features, all features that Windows XP is incapable of rendering.
Windows XP is 11 years old, but recent reports have it still running on 43 percent of the world's computers, making it the second most common operating system after Windows 7, which surpassed XP only earlier this year.
