Users can now collate and export to ePub
Wikipedia users will now have the option to download content from the user-edited encyclopedia to an ePub format for later reading. The new feature was announced today in a post on Wikipedia's blog. Wikipedia calls the new feature "book creator," and it is available on the site.
Clicking "Start book creator" will cause any article displayed to feature a link at the top allowing users to add a page to a book, view their current book, or to see suggested pages. The feature is persistent throughout the Wikipedia navigation experience, and books can be saved to a user's profile.
Once a user deems a book sufficiently full, she can order it as a printed book through PediaPress or download it in PDF, OpenDocument, OpenZIM, or ePub format. Users can also edit the order and quantity of books for a particular download.
