UK retail leaks price and imminent release date

Sightings of a Beats-branded Bluetooth wireless speaker have been reported at both the FCC and a UK retailer. The Beats by Dr. Dre Pill has passed through the FCC, with mention of its Bluetooth capabilities, while the online store for HMV put up a listing for the speaker, before quickly removing it from existence.

Although no firm details as to its sound quality and power are revealed, an aux-in jack and a USB-charged lithium-ion battery that will last 8.5 hours have been spotted, along with the shape bearing a significant resemblence to the Pill's medicinal namesake.

The cached page for HMV shows a cost of 170 ($) and a release date of the 28th of September. No official announcement has been made for the Beats Pill, but the combination of a web-based retail leak and an FCC filing makes a near-future release likely. [via Engadget]
