On pace to beat iOS 5, crushes Jelly Bean installation rates
According to advertising and analysis firm Chitika, Apple's recently-released iOS 6 has already been installed on 15 percent of all eligible iOS devices, after just 24 hours availabilty. The data was obtained by querying the browser and OS version on "millions" of advertising impressions generated by the Chikita Ad network from September 19 to 20.
Following release, adoption soared despite high loads on Apple's servers, as well as a Wi-Fi verification page server failure. The two months following the Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean) release saw a 1.5 percent adoption rate. Apple's iOS 5 managed 20 percent in five days.
