Sakar announces four Polaroid-branded HD camcorders

License holder Sakar International and Polaroid revealed they will launch a new range of Polaroid-branded compact camcorders. There will be four, including the iD820, iD879, iD450, and the iD640. One of them, the iD820, is touted as one of the thinnest and lightest capable of recording 1080p content.

It's about half an inch thick and under 4 ounces and sports a 12-megapixel sensor. There is also a three-inch touchscreen with gesture support out back. An uncommon feature is the dual video mode that lets users record two video streams, with one at 1080p and the other at lower resolution for YouTube or quick sharing with friends. It will cost $180, according to SlashGear.

The iD879 will have the same touchscreen and a 5x optical zoom, along with both a microSD and SD memory card slot. It gets dual recording as well and will cost $180 as well.

The iD450 gets a Wi-Fi radio which uploads content to the web through its embedded Ustream app. It can also connect to Android and iOS devices to view live video. It also supports 1080p recording, gets the three-inch screen, and the same $180 price tag.

Last of the upcoming cameras is the iD640, which is water-, shock-, dust-, and freeze-proof. It only supports 720p recording and has a two-inch LCD. It will sell for $100, however.

All four are said to arrive in mid-September.
