Update sees pop-up play video changes, Google Now

Samsung has started its rollout of Jelly Bean onto the Galaxy S III. The Android update to 4.1.1 has been released in Poland, with the company adding that it will be "gradually introduced to other markets" in the near future. Today's release takes place well in advance of its earlier plans to release the mobile operating system changes in October.

Aside from the Android 4.1 updates, including Google Now, the Samsung update will also make changes specifically for the Galaxy S III. The Pop-Up Play video window will be resizeable, a new Easy Mode will add five large widgets to the home screen to help access frequently used functions, and a Blocking Mode will allow users to block calls, alarms, LED indications, and notifications for a period of time.

Samsung also confirmed Jelly Bean updates to additional devices in the future, including the Galaxy Tab 2 7.0 and 10.1, Note 10.1, S II, Note, Tab 7.0 Plus, S Advance, SII LTE, Music, Chat, Ace 2, Beam, Ace Plus, Mini II, and S Duos. [via Sam Mobile]
