Glitch causing some mentions to be replaced

A bug in the official Twitter iOS app is causing some mentions to be replaced by older, retweeted ones, reports say. Favstar.fm remarks that the issue occurs when an older mention has been retweeted by someone else. The problem doesn't seem to be replicable in third-party apps, such as Tweetbot.

The glitch may be a serious one for some people, since while the Twitter app is technically optional, there are numerous hooks for it in iOS 6, making it almost de facto. Twitter has been notified of the issue, but has yet to offer a reply.
