Cases allegedly show up at Australian store
Corroborating recent rumors, several iPad mini cases have allegedly arrived ahead of schedule at a retailer in Australia. Although case leaks from small companies are typically dubious, Product Feedback claims to have received iPad mini cases produced and packaged by Cygnett, a relatively large company in the accessory business, rather than a prototype built by a startup.
The case exterior measures 20cm by 13cm, while the interior is approximately 1cm deep, hinting at the iPad mini dimensions, if in fact Cygnett received early access to the final specs, and if the leak is genuine. A YouTube video shows the latest iPad's bezel dimensions superimposed on the case dimensions, resulting in a seven-inch display with a 16:9 aspect ratio.
Separate leaks have pointed to 7.85 inches as the likely display size and 4:3 as the aspect ratio, though the alleged Cygnett cases generally appear to match the layout shown in earlier leaks. Few other details have surfaced, aside from presumable features such as a Lightning connector.
Apple is rumored to be distributing unveiling invitations next week, with a launch expected before the holidays. [via SlashGear]
