Features two standalone, two full remix channels

Coming quickly after an update to its Maschine line, Native Instruments has announced a new "2+2" control mixer, the Traktor Kontrol Z2. The unit is said to unite analog and digital DJing techniques, with two standalone channels for connecting turntables or CDJs while also providing two additional channels to plug in devices such as Traktor Remix Decks. The Kontrol Z2 acts as a central hub, and includes a 24-bit soundcard, XLR outputs, booth output, a built-in USB hub and microphone input. The software offers new features as well.

The Z2 includes the latest version of Traktor Scratch Pro 2 software, and includes new Macro FX -- which allows users to combine multiple Traktor effect and tie them to a single control on the hardware -- and a Flux Mode, which tracks the time during complicated scratch and effect performances, making loop rolls and effects possible while keeping the returning song tuned to the beat. The package also includes Traktor Scratch timecode vinyl and CDs.

The hardware features HID technology to integrate CDJs, tactile knobs and faders. Each of the primary channels has dedicated three-band EQs, filter and faders. There are four multi-colored LED buttons for each Traktor remix channel to control cue points and Remix Decks, as well as two rotary knobs for volume. The body of the device is made of aircraft-grade aluminum, designed for club life and he first professional-level club mixed the company has offered.

Native Instruments is taking pre-orders for the Traktor Kontrol Z2, which will begin shipping on November 1. It will sell for $899.
