Shipping mistake seems to confirm larger Nexus 7
Google may be preparing to release a 32GB variant of its Nexus 7 tablet, as images of just such a device appear to have emerged online. A Twitter user in Japan posted evidence of a 32GB model of the Nexus 7 to his account today, The new model, should it exist, would have double the storage capacity of the largest current Nexus 7.
The picture posted shows the storage screen of a device said to have been accidentally shipped to Twitter user @oppese. The screen shows 27.58GB of internal storage available.
The relatively small storage space on the Nexus 7 was one of the few negative complaints in a device that was generally well-received critically. A number of rumors have circulated about Google refreshing the Nexus 7, including speculation as to the possibility of a 3G-enabled variant. Google and its manufacturing partner Asus, so far, have not been forthcoming with any additional information on the device.
