Case and app combo allow for ride tracking, full app usage

Sports technology company Velocomphas updated its iBike line of cycling accessories for the iPhone 5. Two new products have been announced -- the iBike Dash CC 5 cycling computer and iBike Phone Booth 5 bike case and mount. Both products are designed specifically for the new iPhone 5. The Dash CC 5 computer features Bluetooth 4.0 bike sensor technology to track speed and cycling cadence, while the Phone Booth 5 case allows secure mounting of an iPhone 5 on either handlebars or the bike stem.

The new iBike Dash CC Cycling Computer includes the updated iBike Coach 2.0 App with precision measurements of cycling data -- speed, distance, cycling time, cadence with the included Bluetooth speed/cadence sensor, and heart rate data with the optional Bluetooth Smart Heart Rate sensor. The iBike Coach App also allows selection of portrait or landscape mode and provides for uploading ride data to the Strava social media site.  Available in 9 foreign languages, the App has multiple screens that show users vital information, including speed, distance, time, calories consumed, GPS data, and maps.

The iBike Phone Booth 5 now comes with a new dual mount with an exclusive metal bracket and bolt attachment system, minimizing the risk of phone loss from mount failure. The iPhone can be mounted in traditional portrait mode, or can be set up so that it sits horizontally on a bike in landscape dashboard-like view. The iBike Phone Booth 5 allows a cyclist full control of an iPhone 5’s touch screen and full use of all of the installed apps while in the mount.

An iBike Phone Booth 5 case & mount for iPhone 5 can be preordered for shipment in November for $50. The case will be available in late November at Apple retail stores. Available in December, the iBike Dash CC cycling will be priced at $100.
