Custom gaming computer manufacturer CyberPower PC has debuted the Fang Taipan -- a laptop that the company calls the "most powerful customizable dual Nvidia GPU gaming laptop." Highlights of the new model include twin SLI GPUs, Ivy Bridge Intel processors, and a 17.3-inch screen.

The new model can support up to two NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680Ms in SLI mode, selection from a range of Intel Core i7 CPUs including the fastest i7-3940XM 3.0GHz Extreme Edition Ivy Bridge Mobile Processor, and features up to 32 GBs of dual-channel DDR3 memory, built-in 9-in-1 card reader; 2 megapixel digital video camera; one changeable 12.7mm optical drive, two detachable 2.5-inch 9.5mm SATA-3 hard disk drives with hardware RAID 0/1 support, and a full size illuminated keyboard that can change colors on the fly.

Communication capabilities include built-in Gigabit Ethernet LAN and an internal 802.11 b/g/n wireless LAN + Bluetooth combination, and USB 3.0 ports. The display is a 17.3-inch, 16:9 LED-backlit 1080P display combined with an Onkyo sound system with built in subwoofer.

The laptop measures 16.5 inches x 11.54 inches x 1.55 inches, and weighs 8.6 pounds when configured with a single graphic card, optical drive and battery. The unit can be preordered with Windows 8 through a presage program, and the computer will be shipped on October 26 when the OS becomes available. The base price of the Fang Taipan is $1,819 and includes a one-year warranty.
