Shipping systems after Windows 8 release date

Dell has put a number of its previously-revealed computers up for pre-order. The XPS 12 convertible tablet notebook, XPS One 27 All-In-One, and the Inspiron One 23 Windows 8-enabled systems are all set to ship soon after the Microsoft operating system release at the end of October.

The XPS 12 is a 12-inch notebook that, thanks to its hinged frame, can flip its 1920x1080 resolution touchscreen around and become a tablet. Clad in edge-to-edge Gorilla Glass, carbon fiber and machined aluminum, the notebook is powered by a choice of an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor.

Both the XPS One 27 and the Inspiron One 23 are desktop space-saving family PCs. The larger One 27 is powered by a choice of Ivy Bridge processors, has options for up to 16GB RAM, two terabytes of storage, and either Intel HD 4000 or NVIDIA GeForce GT 640M graphics to help run its 2560x1440 resolution, 27-inch display. Although a smaller 23-inch display with a Full HD resolution, the One 23 has options for up to one terabyte of storage, six gigabytes of RAM, and support for second and third-generation Intel processors.

Not to be overlooked, Dell is also updating its XPS 13 Ultrabook. The notebook has been updated to use Ivy bridge and Intel HD 4000 integrated graphics.

The XPS 12 starts from $1,200, the XPS One 27 AIO from $1,600, the Inspiron One 23 from $780, and the XPS 13 updates from $1,000.
