CyberPower Zeus Storm gaming PC unveiled

Choice of Intel, AMD CPU, GPU


Boutique gaming PC manufacturer CyberPower Inc today revealed the Zeus Storm series -- a trio of desktop computers equipped with the newest Intel and AMD processors and high-powered discrete video cards. Customers can select from the Zeus Storm 1000 with 8-Core AMD Zambezi processors, the Zeus Storm 2000 featuring Intel's Ivy Bridge CPU, or the Storm 3000 model based on Intel's X79 platform including the latest second generation Sandy Bridge-E CPUs.

The Zeus Storm 1000 includes the AMD FX-8150 processor running at 3.6GHz with 16GB of DDR3. Graphics are supplied by the AMD Radeon HD 7870. A single 2TB hard drive provides storage for the unit. The retail price on the Storm 1000 is $1,460 to $1,969.

An Intel quad-core I7-3770K 3.5Ghz processor is installed in the Zeus Storm 2000 and supported by 16GB of DDR3 RAM. The Nvidia GeForce GTX 660Ti provides graphical acceleration to the computer. Storage is supplied by both a 2TB hard drive and a 128GB SSD. When available, a Zeus Storm 2000 will cost $1,682 to $2,245.

The Zeus Storm 3000 is driven by the 3.6Ghz Sandy Bridge i7-3820, on the X79 chipset with 16GB of DDR3 RAM. A Nvidia GeForce GTX 670 provides graphic acceleration, and storage is provided by a 240GB SSD and a 2TB hard drive. The high end of the Zeus Storm line retails for between $1,943 and $3,715, depending on configuration.
