Preorders to start October 16
AT&T has revealed pricing and availability for LG's Optimus G smartphone. The LG "superphone" will be available on AT&T beginning November 2 for $200 with a two-year commitment. Preorders for the Optimus G will begin tomorrow at AT&T's website.
The Optimus G is a 4G LTE-capable handset with a 4.7-inch WXGA IPS-LCD display outputting at 1280x768 in a 15:9 ratio. Inside, it packs a quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro chip powering a custom ARM-based design clocked at 1.5GHz. It has 2GB of RAM and internal storage up to 32GB.
Electronista went hands-on with the Optimus G a bit earlier this month. We were impressed with the handset's processing power, as well as with the features LG built into the device to show off that power. Chief among those features were the ability to zoom into live video and to play video at a lower transparency while accessing other features of the device. At $200 on contract, it's definitely worth picking up if you're in the market for a high-powered Android device.
