9.7-inch Android tablet to undercut competition

The recently revealed Insignia Flex Tablet from Best Buy will retail for between $239 and $259 when it goes on sale November 11. This according to sources familiar with the matter, who say that Best Buy's in-house brand tablet will be sold only at Best Buy. The new tablet significantly undercuts the tablet market-leading iPad as well as other competitors like Microsoft's Surface.

The Insignia Flex will run Android 4.0 on a dual-core 1GHz processor. It will feature a 9.7-inch screen and weigh about 1.45 pounds. It is also said, according to Reuters, to feature a 10-hour battery life and a front-facing camera for video conferencing.

Best Buy will continue to carry devices from other manufacturers, despite the fact that the retailer is entering the tablet sector. The company hopes to position itself as a destination for tablets, carrying a wide array of devices from many manufacturers.
