Apple to offer live streaming from iPad mini unveiling
Apple is set to offer Apple TV users live video streaming for today’s anticipated iPad mini unveiling, reports Macrumors. Apple TV users noticed a new “Apple Events” icon appear on their Apple TV menu that offers an invitation to tune in at 10.00am (Pacific) to watch the presentation. At the time of writing, there is no indication that Apple plans to offer the live stream through other portals.
This marks the first time since 2010’s “Back to the Mac” event that Apple has offered a live video feed for one of its special events. The lead-up to the holiday season is always a key time for Apple, along with the industry. Further, today’s special event could also see Apple deliver its most substantial lineup of new products on the one occasion, which could have prompted the move.
In addition to the iPad mini, there is substantial evidence mounting that Apple will also reveal an updated larger iPad with a new Lightning connector among other possible refinements. It is also thought that Apple will introduce an all-new 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display as well as an updated Mac mini. While it is was also expected that Apple would unveil new iMacs, recent rumors suggest that it could be a late scratching due to unspecified manufacturing issues.
