LG Nexus 4 expected to be officially unveiled at October 29 event

More photos of the upcoming LG Nexus 4 handset have surfaced online thanks to evleaks. This time around, however, they're not in-the-wild shots, but more official-looking promotional shots that also, for the first time, show the Nexus branding on the rear. These images are a further indication that the handset will launch sometime next week.

A Google press conference is scheduled for October 29, and many believe that's when the smartphone will be officially unveiled.

As for specs, the unconfirmed but rumored ones include a 4.7-inch LCD True HD IPS+ touchscreen with a resolution of 1,184x768 or 1,280x768 and a 1.5GHz, quad-core Snapdragon S4 Pro and 2GB of RAM. There should also be an eight-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing unit onboard.

The 9.1mm thick body will likely house a 2,100mAh battery and either 8GB or 16GB of flash memory, depending on model.

There are also speculations that the handset will run on Android 4.2, and as the flagship, unskinned Android phones the Nexus branding has traditionally stood for, this seems very plausible. [via SlashGear]
