Words With Friends to join the platform in the future

Draw Something, the popular game created by OMGPOP and owned by Zynga, is now out for Windows Phones [Store]. Though it has only just been released on the Microsoft platform, long after appearing on iOS and Android, it will be exclusive to the Lumia range of Nokia handsets for a two month period.

The Pictionary-style game is seen as the catalyst for the OMGPOP acquisition, where Zynga paid around $210 million for the company and its titles, shortly after the game reached critical mass. The game has since lost its initially-high player numbers, though it still earns a significant amount to Zynga each day. At its height, Draw Something raked in as much as $360,000 a day from the iOS version alone.

The Windows Phone platform will also see Words With Friends be released to it in the near future, according to The Verge. Plans are also underway to release Draw Something and Zynga Poker to the Nokia Asha line as well.
