Mophie ships juice pack battery case for Galaxy S III

White juice pack for Galaxy S III now shipping for $100

As expected, Mophie has now released its first juice pack auxiliary battery case for a non-iOS device. The latest juice pack case will nearly double the battery life of Samsung's Galaxy S III. The 2,300mAh battery embedded in the case is said to provide up to seven extra hours of talk time on 4G, or 9 additional hours of web browsing, or 32 hours of audio playback.

As with other Mophie cases, there is a USB pass-through that will sync the phone and recharge the handset's battery first before charging the juice pack. There is also a power switch on the case, along with a row of four LEDs that show the approximate amount of battery life left over. The smart battery case has overcharge, over-discharge, energy flow back, short circuit, and malfunction protection.

The handset's S Beam and NFC functionality are not affected by the case, which is 0.67 inches thick.

Thus far, only the white version is shipping, with the black model due to arrive on November 28. Either has a price of $100.
