Compact camera with Jelly Bean soon to be released
Samsung has announced a release date for its Galaxy Camera in the UK. The 16.1-megapixel Android 4.1-powered compact camera will be reaching UK shores on November 8th, with a combination of mobile phone stores and camera retailers stocking the device, including Phones 4U, Carphone Warehouse, and Jessops.
Complete with a 1/2.3" BSI CMOS sensor, a 23mm aperture lens, and a touch-controlled 21x optical zoom, the Galaxy Camera boasts 3G and 4G connectivity for instant uploads of photographs and videos to social media sites. While it has a dual-core 1.4GHz processor, 8GB of storage, Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-Fi connectivity and a HDMI connection, it can effectively do anything that an Android phone is capable of performing, except to make calls. A 720p, 4.7-inch touch display provides controls for the camera, as well as providing access to Google Play.
Though an official price has yet to be revealed by Samsung, Jessops shows it as on sale in black or white for £400 ($640). A US release has not yet been revealed.
