Samsung For Enterprise launches in Europe

Samsung announced today that it had launched its enterprise security-oriented program, Samsung For Enterprise (SaFE), in Europe ahead of a global rollout. The program, aimed at accommodating the Bring-Your-Own-Device trend in enterprise, has already launched in the United States, but the global launch is meant to spread Samsung's reliability and security standards to the international market. The program integrates Samsung's B2B platform and leverages a number of Samsung-approved developers to provide applications and services that allow enterprises to rely on Samsung devices without needing to worry about potential security issues.

The program consists of three pillars: SaFE Platform, SaFE Partner Program, and SaFE Quality Assurance. The SaFE Platform includes smartphones and tablets that feature stronger security on the device level, while the SaFE Partner Program includes Samsung-affiliated entities providing VPN and MDM features based on Samsung smartphones and tablets. The Quality Assurance arm is a set of standards produced by Samsung to allow enterprise customers to select devices that meet Samsung's reliability standards.

Customers will be able to check and see if their device is compatible with SaFE standards before purchasing, and the vendors and developers can only join the program by invitation. Currently, the program is only applicable to VPN and MDM categories, though solution categories will be expanded in order to fit the needs of customers on a region-by-region basis.
