MX279H and MX239H displays feature IPS technology
Asus announced yesterday the launch of two new additions to its line of Designo displays. The displays come in 27- and 23-inch models, and each features Bang & Olufsen ICEpower-derived dual 3W stereo speakers coupled with Asus' SonicMaster technology. The 23-inch MX239H measures 14.5mm at its thinnest point, while the 27-inch MX279H measures 17.5mm thick at its thinnest point.
The two monitors feature a sundial-inspired stand and a bezel thickness of only 0.8mm. Each has an LED-backlit AH-IPS panel with a 178-degree wide-view angle. The two models also feature a 5ms response time that cuts down on ghosting and tracers.
The displays support Full HD 1920x1080 resolutionsm and feature dual HDMI and VGA input ports. Asus has yet to reveal pricing and availability details on the displays.

No VESA compatible mounting system with inputs that exit the back horizontally.
How dumb is that?
Anyone who cares a lot about frameless / super thin bezel size is likely wanting to construct a multi-monitor solution where they likely will use a VESA mounting system. And if you were interested in the display because it was very thin you might want to put it against a wall but the horizontal input pretty much makes that impossible too.
So what is the point of this?
