Assassin's Creed III bundled with Pro version of drives

Samsung is hoping to attract gamers to its new 840 SSD line by bundling Assassin's Creed III with the 840 Pro. The promotion mirrors a similar offer earlier in the year, where the company offered Ghost Recon: Future Soldier, another Ubisoft title, at no charge to purchasers of its 128GB, 256GB and 512GB 830 series solid state drives.

The 840 Pro and standard 840 drives all use SATA 6.0, a new triple-core MDX controller, and triple-level cell Toggle DDR2 flash memory. The Pro series also includes AES 256-bit encryption, boasts up to 100,000 input-output operations per second, and sequential read speeds of up to 540MBps, while the 840 can perform 97,000 IOPS and sequential reads at up to 530MBps. The Magician 4.0 diagnostics and management software has been redesigned to improve drive performance, while an includes SmartMigration software will make it easier to import data to the new SSDs.

The 840 SSD is available in 120GB, 150GB and 500GB capacities, starting from $140. The 840 Pro SSDs including the Assassin's Creed III offer start from $190 for the 128GB capacity, $320 for the 256GB, and the 512GB at $750.
